Share a recipe, the story behind it, and the practical details that help another home cook make it successfully. Use this page to send your recipe article and optional photo privately to the Family Recipe HQ editors.
Article requirements: at least 1,000 words
Your article must contain at least 1,000 words and include all the information needed to prepare the recipe. Write useful instructions and explanations rather than adding repeated sentences to reach the minimum.
Include the recipe title, servings or yield, preparation time, cooking time, and a complete ingredient list with measured amounts. Explain the directions in order, including equipment or pan size when it affects the result, cooking temperatures, and appropriate doneness checks.
Add relevant substitutions, helpful technique tips, serving suggestions, and storage or reheating guidance. A family story is welcome, but the article must still include the full recipe. Identify any recipe sources and distinguish your own tested experience from suggestions you have not tried.
Files, credit, and privacy
Article upload: Attach one PDF, DOCX, or TXT file, up to 5 MB. Enter its word count in the form and confirm that it meets the minimum. The form checks your declared number; an editor checks the manuscript’s actual word count and recipe completeness before publication.
Media file upload: You may attach one JPG or PNG photo, up to 3 MB. Use an image you own or have permission to share, and add a description and photographer credit. A photo is optional.
Enter the name you want used for contributor credit. Your website URL is optional; we will include it with public credit only if you select the permission checkbox. Your contact email is used privately for editorial follow-up and will not appear in a published recipe.
Submit your recipe article
Editorial review before sharing
Your article and optional media are sent privately by email to our editors. Submission does not publish the recipe automatically or guarantee publication. Before sharing it publicly, editors review the manuscript’s actual word count, measured ingredients, cooking instructions, food-safety guidance, originality, and media permission. We may contact you to clarify details or edit the article for clarity.
Keep home addresses, phone numbers, and other sensitive details out of your manuscript and photos. Review our Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and editorial standards. For a general food or cooking article idea, please contact the editors before sending a manuscript.
